MATER-BI: the innovative and sustainable solution at the International Plastic Packaging Technologies Congress

The International Plastic Packaging Technologies Congress, the event that brings together experts, industrialists and investors to promote the Turkish plastic industry all over the world, was held in Istanbul on October 30th.
 
During the congress, which this year was dedicated to the "Packaging of the future", public authorities, international organizations, producers and the academic world  created a platform to discuss about raw materials and markets, new technologies, innovative developments, eco-design and brand building.
 
Alberto Castellanza, Novamont's International Sales Manager, took part in the conference with the speech "Compostable Materials: Innovative solutions in packaging applications", where he illustrated how compostability can represent a more sustainable alternative in certain specific applications through the Mater-Bi packaging solutions
 
The packaging products made of MATER-BI are able to minimize the risks strictly connected with the end of life and can be collected with organic waste and sent to the composting or anaerobic digestion plants, where they can be transformed into compost.
 
The initiative, now in its fifth edition, was promoted by PAGEV, an industry association among the main Turkish non-governmental organizations, which with 1750 companies represents over 88% of the Turkish plastic value chain.
