Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion

Novamont believes that innovation and sustainable growth are also driven by the ability to value differences. For this reason, the company is committed to fostering a workplace culture based on respect, listening and participation.

As a Benefit Company and a certified B Corp, Novamont considers diversity and inclusion essential elements of its way of doing business and creating shared value.

The company is committed to integrating the principles of Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (JEDI) into its policies, practices, and relationships with stakeholders and local communities. This commitment builds on a journey that has already begun and has been progressively embedded into business processes, in line with Novamont's development model, which combines bio-based innovation with the enhancement of agricultural value chains and local territories.

Novamont works to create environments in which every individual feels welcomed, respected and valued, and is able to contribute fully through their unique skills, experiences and perspectives.

Promoting Inclusion

In 2023, Novamont appointed a Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Manager, reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, with responsibility for promoting strategies and initiatives aimed at valuing diversity and fostering an increasingly inclusive workplace that is attentive to people's needs, experiences and individual characteristics.

To support this commitment, Novamont also established the Diversity & Inclusion Committee, a cross-functional and voluntary working group composed of employees from different business areas and guided by the D&I Manager. It contributes to defining priorities, monitoring the progress of initiatives and promoting an inclusive culture throughout the organization, providing a space for dialogue, listening and co-creation that encourages participation and values diverse perspectives.

Projects that create value

Novamont's commitment to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion is translated into concrete initiatives aimed both at the people within the organization and at the communities and local territories with which the company interacts.

Bioeconomy for Inclusion, with Terra Felix
For several years, Novamont has been collaborating with Terra Felix, a social cooperative engaged in promoting social inclusion and sustainable agricultural practices in the Campania region.
Through the "Bioeconomy for Inclusion" project, launched at the Carinola Correctional Facility (Caserta), Novamont supports training, skills development and social reintegration pathways for incarcerated individuals, recognizing the role of sustainable and regenerative agriculture as a tool for inclusion and personal development.

The AUTentico Social Café
Created in collaboration with associations and local organizations working in the field of autism, the Caffè AUT project combines social inclusion with corporate life.
The initiative involves young autistic adults in hands-on training and work experiences, promoting autonomy, participation and the development of individual talents, while also contributing to greater awareness and understanding of inclusion across the organization.
