Novamont: “Terra Madre Salone del Gusto” Sustainability Partner
The twelfth edition of “Terra Madre Salone del Gusto” will be held in Turin from 20 to 24 September. The event is promoted by City of Turin, Slow Food, the Piedmont Region, the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Tourism, and Ismea, the Institute of Services for the Agricultural Food Market, with the aim of stimulating and encouraging the change in people's eating habits.
The leitmotif of all the conferences, the laboratories and the Great Market will be “Food For Change”: ample space will be given to the areas of action expressed by the statement of Chengdu - which reaffirms the need to fight in order to guarantee access to good, clean, fair and healthy food.
Also this year Novamont has chosen to be the Sustainability Partner of the initiative through the supply of compostable and biodegradable tableware made of Mater-Bi. Terra Madre is indeed an "only compostable" event: all exhibitors and restaurateurs use compostable products (plates, cutlery, glasses, finger food, ice cream cups) which are then sent to the separate collection of the organic fraction. The fully traced system is aimed at conferring all organic residuals and constantly improving the objectives of separate collection of the event. In the previous edition the 70.42% of waste collection was achieved with an average of 90% of purity.
Starting from the sustainability project applied to Terra Madre Salone del Gusto 2018 and called "Seed for Global Goals", on Friday 21 September, all the Sustainability Partners of the event will recount the initiatives that have made the event a unique moment of sharing the Sustainable Development of the United Nations Agenda 2030. Novamont will be present with Andrea Di Stefano - Head of Novamont special projects.
