Novamont at the 30th annual Organics Recycling Conference organized by the Compost Council of Canada

The 30th Annual Organics Recycling Conference of the Compost Council of Canada took place, for the first time online, between September 28th and October 2nd. Compost Council of Canada serves as the central resource and network for the compost industry in Canada. 

Paul Darby, V-P Marketing Novamont North America, and Paolo La ScolaNovamont EU Public Affairs, attended as speakers the afternoon session on Tuesday September 29th entitled “Advances of Impact to Certified Compostable Products and Packaging Within the Organics Recycling Infrastructure”. 

Paolo La Scola presented the Italian and European legislation concerning compostable plastics and how, these materials, contributing to the separate collection of organic waste and to deliver high quality compost that bring back carbon into soil, are fundamental within the framework of the approval of the 2018 Circular Economy Package and the announced New Circular Economy Action Plan. Paul Darby presented Novamont’s app “Food Scrap Recycling Truck” that helps to teach kids how to sort food waste and to value the environmental benefits of food scrap composting.   

Also Jeannette Hanna-BASF, Bruce Magnani - Houston Magnani, David Newman - BBIA: Bio-Based and Biodegradable Industries Association, Kathy Palko - Environment and Climate Change Canada, Heather Trim - Zero Waste Washington, attended the session.
