Italy’s Bioeconomy Strategy to be launched on April 20th

After the public consultation launched in 2016, Italy will have its Bioeconomy Strategy. On April 20th in Rome the outcome of consultation will be presented by European and national institutions and private stakeholders.

Promoted by the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, the event will see the participation of Catia Bastioli (CEO Novamont and President Cluster SPRING), Waldemar Kütt (EC - DG RTD Bioeconomy), Philippe Mengal (BBI-JU), Paolo Bonaretti (Economic Adviser to the Prime Minister),  representatives of the Italian Ministries involved in the Strategy and Fabio Fava, Italian Representative for the Bioeconomy in Horizon 2020.

The Strategy, developed by several Ministries (Economic Development; Environment; Agriculture; Education), the Agency for Territorial Cohesion; the Committee of Italian Regions and the Italian Cluster for Green Chemistry (SPRING) and AgriFood, aims at bridging the main bioeconomy sectors, producing new knowledge, technologies, services, capacity building and creating longer, more sustainable and locally routed value chains. It also allows Italy to increase its competitiveness, role in promoting sustainable growth and job creation in Europe and in the Mediterranean basin and also to contribute to EU’s environmental and industrial policies.

The event will be live streamed: http://live.cnr.it.
