Catia Bastioli at the presentation of the new Club of Rome report
On May 10, the presentation of the New Report of the Club of Rome entitled "Limits and Beyond: 50 years on from The Limits to Growth, what did we learn and what's next?", published on the occasion of the fiftieth anniversary of the release of the first report "The Limits to Growth", was held at Palazzo Marino in Milan.
During the event, organized by the group Europa Verdi, a representation of the members of the Club of Rome highlighted the key messages of the publication and the influence that it had on society, particularly in the way of perceiving its future development and the impact on the planet. The presentation was then followed by a dialogue with institutions and industry on the most effective ways to transform the authors' recommendations into concrete actions.

In particular, Bastioli emphasized how it took 50 years to clearly recognize the urgency to accelerate towards a real ecological transition. According to Bastioli, circular bioeconomy will play a key role in this sense, since it can be an important tool to regenerate territories and decarbonize economy, reducing the use of fossil resources and creating products and processes with low impact.
