The 13th edition of the European Bioplastics Conference in Berlin

The annual appointment with the European Bioplastic Conference, the most important discussion forum dedicated to the bioplastics sector in Europe and the world, was held on December 4th and 5th.
 
The initiative was promoted by European Bioplastics - EUBP, of which NOVAMONT is a member. EUBP is the association that brings together partners and experts in the supply chain with the aim of raising awareness of all groups of relevant stakeholders on the contribution of bioplastics to enhancing the management of the organic waste collection, reducing ghg emissions and using renewable resources more efficiently.
 
During the first day of the Forum, Stefano Facco, NOVAMONT's New Business Development Manager - moderated the conference "Bioplastics Packaging - From single-use to food contact solutions", while Francesco Degli Innocenti - Ecology of Products and Environmental Communication Manager, of NOVAMONT- addressed the session "End-of-life new technologies and solutions".
 
During his speech, Degli Innocenti dealt with the issues of biodegradability and standardization. Specifically, he illustrated how a method for determining risks and impacts of plastic materials would highlight the advantages of biodegradable plastics, mostly in case of accidental spillage.
