NOVAMONT presents in Argentina the potential of bioplastics and solutions in MATER-BI
On November 7th Novamont participated to the workshop “Biodegradable plastics: commercial experiences in Europe and its development in Argentina” held in Buenos Aires and organized by the Camara Argentina de la Industria Plastica and Ubatec S.A., Ubatec S.A., organization formed by the University of Buenos Aires, the Government of the City of Buenos Aires, the Argentine Industrial Union and the General Confederation of Industry, for the promotion and promotion of technology transfer.
Alberto Castellanza, Novamont’s International sales manager, had the opportunity to present the Italian situation regarding biodegradable plastics’ market, legislation and the separate collection of biowaste system set up, also, thanks to the use of biodegradable and compostable bags. On the biowaste issue, Novamont’s presented the potential that Argentina has in developing a virtuous biowaste value chain that can be organically recycled after being separately collected thanks to the use of biodegradable and compostable plastics. Believing the Argentina’s potential, Novamont organized pilot tests in different cities (America, Pellegrini and Salliquellò) involving directly families providing them with biodegradable and compostable plastics for the separation collection of biowaste.
The workshop also saw a welcome message of Sergio H. Hilbrecht, Argentine Chamber of the Plastics Industry Director and the participation of Lino Barañao, Argentine Ministry of Science, Technology and Productive Innovation, José María Kenny Scientific attachè at the Italian Embassy, Alejandro Jurado of the Institute for Sustainable Development of the Municipality of Rafaela and Cecilia Blanco of IRAM, Argentine Institute for Standardization and Certification.
