Novamont case study at the European Biopolymer Summit
On 8th-9th February, the European Biopolymer Summit took place in London. The two-day event was organized by ACI with the purpose to bring together experts from biopolymers manufacturers, chemical companies, major associations, raw materials and technology companies to discuss about new challenges and developments within the sector.
Among the speakers of the first day also Alberto Castellanza, Director Markets and Products Development Novamont. With his presentation “How to build a Sustainable Bioplastics Business” he illustrated the European Market of Biopolymers, trends and forecasts, and then highlighted new approaches to renewable resources and to product’s end life. In the end he reported the example of two case studies: the successful use case of compostable bags for the collection of organic waste and the biodegradable mulch film.
This year the event, with a rich programme of conferences and lectures, has been an opportunity for experts from other industries such as food & beverage and automotive to discuss together about new applications and market access of biopolymer products to overcome the current challenges.
