Novamont among the speakers at EFFECTIVE project’s “Circular and biobased materials packaging products” workshop

On June 23, the workshop "Circular and biobased materials packaging products: What is in it for consumer and business?" organised within the framework of EFFECTIVE project, of which Novamont is partner, was held online.

Funded by the BBI JU, the public-private partnership between the European Commission and the European consortium of bio-based industries, within Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation Programme, EFFECTIVE aims to create materials, like polyamides and polyesters, from renewable feedstocks. These materials can be then used for the obtaining of sustainable fibres and films, suitable for different applications and industries i.e., packaging, textile, automotive and construction.

Among the speakers, Patrizio Salice, Novamont New Materials and Technologies Researcher and EFFECTIVE Project Manager, who valorised the group’s activities and results within the partnership.

Specifically, Novamont is testing the conversion of sugars and waste vegetable oils into feedstocks, which could be the basis of new biomaterials for new applications, such as compostable carries bags and waste bags, compostable packaging suitable for food service and GDO and, finally, biodegradable in soil mulch films.
