Novamont among the international players at the 13th edition of the Bioplastic Market in Bangkok
The 13th edition of the Bioplastic Market was held on 12 and 13 March in Bangkok, Thailand. The Bioplastic Market is one of the most important international events dedicated to the bioplastics, which this year had a particular focus on the sustainability of the supply chain in a Circular Economy perspective .
The two-days Conference hosted many virtuous examples of global companies that are embracing the circular economy and that by 2025 will only use 100% recyclable or compostable packaging; moreover international strategies for creating sustainable bioplastics supply chains were shared and market opportunities for emerging sectors such as agriculture, medical 3D printing and textiles were discussed.
On 12 March Stefano Facco, Novamont's New Business Development Director, took part as chairman of the morning session “Prospect of bioplastics industry in the circular economy”, where he illustrated the legislative framework in which the operators of the bioplastics sector move in the euro-Mediterranean scenario.
In the afternoon, Facco held a speech entitled "End-of-life options of bioplastics: replacement or recycle", where through the case studies of Milan and Stuy Town (New York City) he showed how bioplastics can play a fundamental role in driving separate collection systems and in reducing the organic waste contamination, in order to produce high quality compost.
