On May 19th, the XIII edition of the BioInItaly Investment Forum & Intesa Sanpaolo StartUp Initiative, the event organized by Assobiotec - National Association for the development of Biotechnology, Intesa SanPaolo Innovation Center and SPRING - National Technological Cluster of Green Chemistry, was held.

The forum’s objective was to allow biotechnological startups to present their projects to investors, companies and innovation operators. Among the various speakers, the event was attended by Riccardo Palmisano - President Assobiotec, Guido de Vecchi - Director General Intesa Sanpaolo Innovation Center, Giulia Gregori - Head of Strategic Planning and Institutional Communication of Novamont and SPRING General Secretary, Marina Damaggio - ICE, Italian Trade Agency, Bill Barber, Intesa Sanpaolo Innovation Center and Michael Nettersheim, European Circular Bioeconomy Fund.

During the event, Giulia Gregori, stressed how collaboration between large companies and start-ups is increasingly crucial today: on one hand to support the latter in industrial scale-up and, on the other, to allow large industries to contaminate themselves with their innovative potential.

This year Novamont has awarded the "Start-up Award for the best innovation" to Biova, an innovative Start-up operating in the field of food innovation with the aim of reducing food waste, applying the principles of the economy circular.
